A Quick Update

Given that there's lots going on at the moment, I thought that some summary on this blog might be a helpful thing, especially given that I'm in the middle of my dissertation at the moment, and it'll probably be a little while until I have the time to spare to come back here.

Firstly, I'd like to let you know that we're nearing an exciting time for this project. There are a lot of exciting developments planned for the blog, and for my contributions to other publications over the Christmas period. Together with the mandatory accompaniments of job-hunting within the menswear industry, and revision for Finals I'll be pretty busy. I have more of my regular contributions scheduled for both The Code of the Gentleman and Semperey Magazine, which range from a glimpse into the Dugdale Bros mill in Huddersfield, to how to spruce-up vintage tailoring on a budget.

There are some exciting possibilities for new up-and-coming bespoke projects too, which will be followed on both this blog, and on Mensflair.com - more news to come regarding those as they're shored up. I can confirm that I've had a new double-breasted suit ordered from The Cad & the Dandy, and we'll be able to follow the process of its construction from as early as the basted fittings this time round. I'm also very excited to confirm some new interviews with influential tailoring professionals, continuing my interview series 'The Driving Force', which aims to provide an insight into the future of the industry, through the eyes of the talented men and women who are building it. I'll also be adding a number of critiques and opinion pieces to my Mensflair column, discussing various aspects of current affairs in the tailoring industry.

Fortunately, for the moment, there's lots to keep keen readers entertained! As well as the recent posts on 'Thoughts of a Student Tailor', there are a number of pieces currently online from the other publications that I contribute to. My Mensflair column is becoming more established, with a piece out each week to keep track of and my first three pieces are available to read here. There is also a piece on experimenting with cocktail dress for the party season on The Codeof the Gentleman, and a piece on the history of Black Tie soon to be published on the Semperey Magazine website.

This is also a rare opportunity for me to say thank you so very much to all my kind readers and supporters thus far. The amount of support the blog (and my other columns) have received in the space of just a few short months has been both humbling and a delightful surprise, thank you. Normal service will resume forthwith, keep an eye on the Facebook page for updates!
